Gulf Shores Beach Elopement

I’ve been so excited to share these photos with you all. If you know me at all, you know I’m a workaholic and can’t go even a week without doing some kind of work. Last month Nick and I spent a week on vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We stayed at my Aunt and Uncle’s beach house, the perfect venue for a small beach side wedding or elopement. I couldn’t resist planning a beach styled shoot. If you are not familiar with styled shoots, they are a collaboration between vendors to create beautiful content that is often submitted for publication in magazines. Designing styled shoots like this is so fun. With no client’s wants to fulfill, I was able to be creative and use my own design preferences. I played around with different colors and textures that I have never designed with before. I got my inspiration from the beach itself and chose shades of blue, cream, and white. I even chose a variety of different textures like: cheese cloth, rope, fishing net, shells, and driftwood. These components created a very natural table scape that almost blends in on the sandy beach. Here is the mood board I designed for inspiration for this shoot:

When I shared this mood board with a group of vendors in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the results were fantastic:

I planned this styled shoot for a minimalistic, sustainable, and natural beachside elopement. This elopement shoot table scape was designed as a dinner for two. The place setting includes rope chargers, white china, blue cheese cloth napkins, and mussel shell place cards. The table runners were a blue cheesecloth overlaid with a rope fish net to add additional texture. A handmade oyster shell garland draped across the table between rustic wooden candle holders and glass hurricanes with both white and blue pillar candles. Rather than incorporating foreign flowers, the centerpiece of the table featured a beautiful white cake adorned with mussel shells atop a marble and wooden cake stand.
