What Happened on Oak Street?

Co-Owners Brooke Haynes and Kinder Patton have been friends for life. Not only did they attend college together at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, but they grew up just down the road from each other on Oak Street (hence the name Oakstreet Girls). Both Brooke and Kinder have fond memories of family gatherings and learning new recipes from the women in their families. “Family recipes are more than just food. They spark memories and tell stories. There’s something magical about baking the same recipe that your great grandmother baked in her own kitchen years before you were born. It is very special to use our families’ recipes and share their stories through our business,” says co-owner Kinder Patton. With a passion for cooking and baking, Brooke and Kinder decided to start their very own catering company out of their kitchen.

We really wanted to bring new life to our childhood memories and share those recipes to others

Starting from the Ground Up

Brooke and Kinder first launched their catering company for friends and family in fall 2020 out of their own kitchen. With Oakstreet Girls Catering & Events being a side job for both of them and suffering some setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a lot of room for growth in the future. Oakstreet Girls has big hopes to expand in the coming year with a website, blog, and one day even a full time store front. With events just starting to kick off again and the industry recovering from the pandemic, there is no where to go but up.
