Winter Wedding Ideas

Typically most weddings take place in late spring to early fall with the peak of what the wedding industry calls the “wedding season” between June and September. This doesn’t mean that winter weddings don’t happen. Having a winter wedding can be absolutely stunning! However, many people avoid having a winter wedding due to the concern of how to keep their guests warm. Weddings in Christmas tree farms and New Years Eve weddings can be absolutely stunning. Not only are winter weddings beautiful, but there are many benefits to winter weddings like more flexible availability and prices for vendors and venues! I’ve put together some adorable and practical ways to keep your guests warm at a winter wedding:

Blankets

Blankets are the perfect idea for an outdoor wedding when it gets a bit chilly. Throw blankets are inexpensive and can even be a good favor idea! Put them in cute baskets with a catchy sign so guests know they can use them or take them. All of your guests are guaranteed to get warm and bundle up.

Outdoor Heaters

These are game changer! These outdoor heaters can often be rented and placed outside at the ceremony or reception, and can even be placed inside tents to warm the space for your guests to be comfortable throughout the day. Some venues may even provide them and all you will have to pay for is the propane. An easy and effective way to ensure that your guests are nice and warm at your winter event.

Fire Pit

Fire Pits can be a lot of fun at any event, but you don’t see them at many weddings. You can create a unique experience for you and your guests to sit around an open fire and reminisce about an amazing and memorable wedding. Truly an experience no one would forget at  your wedding. You might even take it to the next level with a s’mores bar.

S’mores Favors

Who doesn’t love s’mores? Melted chocolate, gooey marshmallows, and crunchy graham crackers? The perfect warm activity. Now a s’mores bar or favor isn’t going to keep your guests warm, but making s’mores by a fire just might. This is such a cute winter wedding idea that I could not mention it.

Hot Cocoa Bar

There is nothing better than a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night. Your guests will absolutely love this! Not only is this idea delicious, but I guarantee this will warm the hearts of your guests. You can even take it one step further and have coffee and hot chocolate.

Brides are often discouraged from having weddings in the winter, because it’s just too cold outside, but these are only a few of the unique ways couples have provided a unique and warm experience for their guests on their wedding days. There are a lot of benefits to having a winter wedding as it is not the most sought after time of the year, you can often save money from all of your vendors and venues, and have more flexibility on dates as vendors will have more availability and time to focus on your event. Do not let the temperature or weather discourage you from having the wedding of your dreams. For more wedding ideas and planning advice, please subscribe in the box below to never miss a post.
